Student Pink Zone 1-Mile Run
The Pink Zone, along with the Student Pink Zone Organization, hosts an annual Morgan Stanley 1-Mile Run in the spring as part of their continual effort to support breast cancer research, detection, and prevention, as well as raise both funds and awareness for the research and treatment of the disease.
The race, which starts at the Pegula Ice Arena and ends at the HUB, is split into three heats, with the top male and female competitor in each heat receiving a prize. The first heat, a competitive run, kicks off at 11 a.m., followed by a run for cancer survivors and their families at 11:15 a.m., and a “Fun Run” for those just out to have a good time for a great cause at 11:30 a.m.
In addition to the run, other activities are held such as a bake sale, raffles, face painting, live music and games.
