The Penn State Lady Lion basketball team and Pink Zone will team up for their fundraising campaign with a Hoop Shoot prior to the Penn State-Minnesota football game. The Hoop Shoot, which will be located outside of the All Sports Museum (near gate B), will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Members of the Lady Lions will be on hand from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

The Hoop Shoot gives fans the opportunity to shoot one free throw for $1 or shoot six free throws for $5. With a made shot, fans will win a prize and will be registered to win the grand prize of a Lady Lion Swag Bag (to include a basketball signed by Coquese Washington, a pink Lady Lion Nike dri-fit shirt (size L), a pink Nike head-band, 2 sets of pink Nike socks, 2016 Pink Zone t-shirt and 2017 Pink Zone t-shirt). All funds raised on Saturday will go directly to the Pink Zone fundraising efforts. Subway will be partnering with Pink Zone for this event, so stop by for goodies from Subway!

The women’s basketball community is unified in the awareness of, education about and fight against breast cancer, and Penn State women’s basketball will continue its tradition of donning the pink uniforms for the annual Play 4 Kay game benefiting Pink Zone on Sunday, Feb. 26 vs. Michigan at the Bryce Jordan Center. The tip time and any television details for the game will be announced at a later date. Last year, the Lady Lions donated $220,000 to breast cancer causes. This year’s fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital. For more information on the Pink Zone at Penn State, visit the official Pink Zone website at
