Season-high crowd for #Play4Kay game as Lady Lions honor survivors at Jordan Center

The Penn State Lady Lions welcomed a season-high crowd of 4,745 for the 18th annual Pink Zone game, with breast cancer survivors honored at halftime of the game on Feb. 3 at the Bryce Jordan Center.

More than 200 survivors representing over 1,000 combined years of survivorship were in attendance — continuing a tradition for the first-of-its kind event.

The Lady Lion basketball program became the first Division I program in the nation to wear pink uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness on Feb. 4, 2007. PA Pink Zone has honored over 5,200 survivors in Penn State’s annual Pink Zone game since its inception 17 years ago.

As in recent years, the day incuded a speical Opening Ceremony with a Pink Carpet walk for survivors. The pregame event was open to survivors, family and friends, and numerous Penn State teams attended to help honor the survivors.
